Bishop Pivarunas graces the plaidbunny with a photo op

It was my niece and nephew's confirmation yesterday and the Bishop Pivarunas was gracious enough to take a photo with me. It truly is a Plaidbuuny shot as I am wearing a bunny fur scarf and clearly a plaid coat. I love when I can put together outfits like this.

Want to see another photo of me with another Bishop, one from waaaay back in 1983? Pop on over to The Card Album Blog to see a few and for a tutorial on how to make a faux Polaroid.

And not onto hoppin' good crafty links!

Depresion era Grandfather and how he upcycle crafted

I get my crafty side from this grandfather, Abel Girard. He passed it down to my Dad and then my Dad passed it on to me. So in honor of Father's Day I thought I'd share a bit of my grandfather's craftiness.
Now this may look like an ordinary emery board or nail file, but no!
Pepe (the French word for grandfather) made these out of sandpaper and old popsicle sticks!
I have a few of them and I use them and think fondly of him as I do.
I don't have any but he also would cut old bicycle inner tubes and cut them into rubber bands!

Where in the world is Stefanie Girard-The view from both sides

I went on a hike the other day to the top of a mountain that I can see from my house. This is a tree on top of this mountain.
If you look really closely in between the "V' of this big tree you can see the tree on top of the mountain that is behind me in the first photo. (Click on the photo to enlarge it)

This mountain burned last year. This is the picture I took of it burning at the time:
Here is the view through the same burned out branch looking toward the valley and then the other side of the mountain toward Hollywood and Los Angeles.

Easter 2008- The trouble with taking "hunting photos"

Have you ever tried to take pictures of an Easter Egg Hunt? Well this is what my experience has brought me, excellent "butt shots" -just what everyone wants.

Oh, and running away shots!

So, I gave up on the random shots and we posed with our loot (in case your wondering, kids hunt for the traditional eggs and the adults hunt for little airline bottles of alcohol. This is me and my com padre with our findings thus far. We never find them all. Cindy has become so good at hiding them we estimate 5-6 are left in the yard.
La Famia posing for a group portrait on a very windy day. (Always good for the hair!)

And after we all gave up, we partake in the other Holiday (Halloween) tradition of the "Big Swap" First we all assess our findings and then scope out what others have scored. Decisions are often made based on the prettiness of the bottles (You know how us crafters are!)

Thanks for a great day family!
