I started by cutting a 3/8 inch wide strip of a beautiful multi-colored piece of Kiki Art scrapbook paper. Because I cut the strip like this the center of the flower has a nice gradation.

Then I wrapped the chopstick with some floral tape and put it in a recycled sake bottle.

Bloomin' brilliant - I'd say. Looks like a must-have book.
I also "heart" flowers, but curiously not live ones - they require too much care.
However, I'll spend hours and hours crafting paper ones. lol
When I first saw paper flower, I expected something frou frou that I couldn't relate to - I totally love that you used the comics to make a paper flower! Cool project!
