Name plate Cross Stitch

This is a little cross stitch I whipped up with a bit of help from the book Subversive Cross Stitch, I used the font in the back of the book, snagged the swirlies from one project and the border from another. So easy and quick!

Airstream rehab-a-go-go part Deux-done!

Wow isn't this the most exciting photo?! Well for me it is-nicely trimmed carpet padding-ooooh!OK-I got all the carpet padding in and trimmed up, I think it was the easiest of the three layers, wood, padding, carpeting.
I seriously considered just carpeting the back yard for a moment.....ah but seriously, I had to roll all the carpet out to see what I had to work with. When you score free stuff, it's like a box of chocolates, you never know exactly what you've got.

Ta-da!!! All the carpet is magically (OK well not really magically more like huffing and puffing and cutting and trimming and re-marking and a little more trimming!) in!

By the way don't you think it is simply amazing that the carpet matches virtually perfectly the color of the Airstream? Talk about kismet!

Now the fun begins, decorating-whoo-hoooo!

Not all fun, there is still lots to fix, but I think I am going to play a little and fix a little at the same time.

So this is the "before" picture of one end of Superfly. The floor was completely waisted.I am actually one of those people who haul stuff in their SUV. Here is my baby loaded up with FREE lumber. God bless Craig's List. I scored this stash from a warehouse up the street. I am trying to do the rehab of Superfly with all recycled materials, and for free.

Here is the paper template I made from the good end of Superfly.
And here is the template being weighted down with rocks (I use the same method when weighing down a pattern on fabric (only I use nice smooth river rocks).

And voila, here is my new floor! You may be wondering, "Why all the pieces?" Well here's the thing. First of all 4 by 8 sheets of plywood don't fit in my car, but scraps do! Also I can lift and wrangle smaller pieces much easier. And being all this is free! I am working with it. As Tim Gunn says, "Make it work!"
But one little problem did have to be dealt with. There were these pesky little bolt/rivet/knob things sticking up.

So I had to zing them off.
On to removing this funny little area of flooring. Before chisel and hammer:
