This is my entry into Crazy Aunt Purl's Sweater on A Cat Contest by Stefanie Girard
http://www.crazyauntpurl.com/sweepstakes/
As the rules state they are rather liberal in interpretation of "sweater"
Inspired by the neighborhood cat, named "pumpkin" and Crazy Aunt Purls posting of a "pumpkin" hat, I felt Pumpkin the cat needed one. So I crocheted up a tiny version and here is the result. I promise no more cat fur was lost by said owner of fur more than what would have been naturally shed with the amount of petting and snuggling of said cat.
I couldn't just stop there, once the cat hat was worn by one, other cats need to wear the hat as well. For scientific purposes, ya uh that's it.
Photo 1-Hmm this isn't the normal treat you give me, but I think I like it.
Photo 2- Wait, wait, for the big reveal......
Photo 3- What do you think????? Do like it? Does it go with my eyes?
Photo 4-Trick or treat??? Where are the treats?? Is this some kind of trick?? I have my costume on???
Photo 5-Proof I really, really am a pumpkin!!!
Photo 6- "Nut" the best poser of the group- even though she doesn't look like it, we think she actually like having the hat on.
Photo 7- "Beanie"-next door neighbor of "Nut" was a bit busy and we rudely interrupted his hunting for a fashion moment.

Recycled Sweater Bangle
Inspired by a Post on LA Stitch n Bitch Group:
http://uucurl.com/x.php?p=2510
I whipped up these out of some old sweaters. As the name of this bog "Sweater Surgery" indicates, cutting up sweaters and recycling them is one of my "things"
The orange cable is for Halloween and the pink and black striped one just went so nicely with the temporary tattoo that we all put on at the pumpkin carving party.
And a little shameless self promotion, the book of the same name will be out next May by Quarry. Whoo-hooo!

Weekend Jack-O-Lanterns by Burbankians
It's nothing formal but I have been gathering friends together that don't traditionally think of themselves as crafty and make them craft. It is about my only maternal instinct that I let out, "I know better" "Because I said so" Remember when your mom said that? and you were glad you did it! Well that's what I do-I say "just try it"
Well, we had a few Pumpkin carving virgins at this weekend's event and here is a few of the results. I really liked this photo with the 'gleam sparkle" in just the right spot.

Friday Craft TV Weekly and a touch of Connecticut Fall

Paper Cast Santa by Bethany Fields
A papery good project to get a start on your Christmas decor.
But while we are still in Fall mode, here is a bit of Connecticut -a pair of acorns on a tiny bunny plate from an Asian store that was packed full of bunny goodness back in the year of the rabbit. It is probably meant for wasabi but I thought these little acorns worked great! In the photo is also a mug that looks like a section of spine and a bowl of eyeball ornaments. Halloweenie!

Sushi Toilet paper cozy By MK Carroll
On my current "to-do" list is to finish projects. I am probably averaging about 1 a week. Not so bad? I crocheted the top and sides of MK Carrol's Sushi TP cover a year ago while in production of Knitty Gritty, but hadn't gotten to the top details. Well, yesterday was the day. The yarn had been gathered quite a while back and St. Anthony, the patron saint of finding things blessed me with the location of said gathering of yarn and voila! Here is my Finished Object!
